Cullen Kasunic, Instructor
Since 2009, when he co-founded UnitedWind the world's first backyard wind development company, Cullen designed and implemented numerous energy financing and analysis products for solar, wind, energy efficiency, biomass, and other clean/climate focused technologies. Prior to Solve, he most recently served as CFO and Head of Finance for BlocPower from 2019-2023. Here, with IPC and Goldman Sachs, he developed and implemented a broad financing program addressing all elements of facility decarbonization, including HVAC retrofits, solar, storage, EV charging, and energy efficiency measures. Prior to this, he spent two years financing solar projects for the NJ public utility PSEG, and served as product manager at Bright Power, where he oversaw the Energy Scorecards building benchmarking system.
As a consultant, he has built financing programs with leading early stage companies such as Energetic Insurance, Sealed, Optimus Technologies, and Seinergy, as well as supported organizations like The Community Preservation Corporation, Clean Feet Advisors, and the Kresge foundation as they invest in climate and communities. He holds a BA in Urban Planning from SUNY Albany, and a technology-focused MBA from RPI.
